How the world got here

2030

The Stop

The big oil fields dried up one after another, and there was nothing behind them. Ships stalled in harbour, trucks died on the highways, the grid failed. Nobody was bombed. The world simply stopped, and in six years eight and a half billion people became a few hundred million.

2036

The Accord

A last survey team found the Aegis Basin: a remote archipelago with a century of oil under it, the last on Earth. The armed states and industrial groups that were left signed the Accord, formed the Coalition and built cities over the water. The price was obedience. Obey, or be exiled to the wastelands.

2056

The Coldwater Breach

Twenty years of quiet, then a single raid revealed a new power: the Syndicate. One night their party crossed the strait in the dark and captured the Coldwater fuel terminal. It was the first Coalition ground lost in twenty years, and it started the war.

March 12, 2056. The Coalition tore up the Accord, and the commanders signed the Warpact.

A military pact to hold the Basin by force. Everything you command happens after that signature.

The two factions

Same goal. Opposite doctrines.

The Coalition has the technology, the money and the factories to build the most powerful war machines on Earth. The Syndicate has none of that, and is resourceful enough with what it salvages to meet them head on.

A Coalition base in action: headquarters, refinery and factory behind a line of armour and infantry under fire

The Coalition

The states, security firms and industrial groups that still had fuel in 2036. They signed the Accord, built cities over the Basin, and have kept the power on for twenty years. Everything numbered, everything supplied, nothing improvised.

Security through order. Prosperity through obedience.
A Syndicate compound at Iragolvale: rigs and sheds behind rust-red armour and infantry mid-firefight

The Syndicate

Everyone the ration did not cover: the exiles, mechanics, rail engineers and drillers who took the wastelands and made them work. They scavenge what the Coalition throws away and rebuild it better. Improvised, heavy and brilliant.

Chaos doesn't frighten us. We were made in it.

Both of them need the same oil.

The Aegis Basin

Twenty-five playable maps. Five terrains. One front.

Snowfields in the north, desert in the south, and the straits between them. The Coalition holds the west, the Syndicate the east, and every sector is a map you will fight over.
